WORKSHOP: Supervising International Students

These workshops aim to assist participants to:
Develop a clear understanding of the roles and responsibilities of a supervisor;
Develop productive working relationships with international students, to identify the key qualities of good supervisors and good supervision, and to discuss practical suggestions on how to handle the difficulties that can arise in the supervisor-international student relationship;
Explore support initiatives for both supervisors and students;
Identify support structures and useful strategies in relation to international students;
Increase their awareness of a range of approaches to international student supervision and of the specific contributions a supervisor can make.
