China is now the largest national source of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions causing climate change. These emissions must be limited and eventually reduced if the most catastrophic consequences of climate change are to be avoided. However, the Chinese government rejects internationally binding limits on its GHG emissions for two very strong ethical reasons. UWA is a member of the Worldwide Universities Network (WUN), this Virtual Seminar is the last in the current series on Contemporary China. The speaker is from The Hong Kong Institute of Education. The audience will be patched in from all WUN universities via live AV conferencing and presents an opportunity for a global academic discussion of international environmental affairs.
