Lung diseases comprise a major global burden of health and are characterized by loss of gas-exchange units and tissue remodeling. Conventional therapeutic interventions have not been effective in treating these conditions. In this talk, we explore the latest developments in cell biology, animal models, tissue engineering and clinical trials that aim to restitute lung tissue and treat common respiratory conditions.
