The Doctors of Tomorrow : documenting the work of Cuban doctors in East Timor Other events...
Cuba gives more medical aid to the Third World than all the wealthy G8 countries combined and has more doctors working abroad than the World Health Organisation.

Today, 300 volunteer Cuban doctors work in East Timor and 1000 East Timorese students have been granted medical scholarships by Cuba.

The Doctors of Tomorrow interviews some of the 850 East Timorese medical students currently in Cuba, students who are determined to use their medical training to help their people.

At the time of the devastating earthquake that hit Haiti on January 12, Cuba already had 334 doctors and paramedics working on the ground in Haiti. These volunteers have been joined by Cuban trained Haitian doctors to provide emergency medical aid. A short report on Cuba's doctors working in Haiti will also be screened.
