Friends of the Library talk (preceded by AGM at 7.30pm) : The history - the mystery - the science - of growing truffles Other events...
Dr Malajczuk will talk about his research in the truffle industry. He will describe the truffle culture in France and its importance in cuisine, culture, tourism and everyday life in villages in southern France. He will discuss the historical development of the industry in Australia and the management issues to be faced. There are commercial issues associated with the current harvest, including collection techniques, preparation and packaging of collected truffles and marketing issues.
