Professor Greg Whyte is one of British sport's foremost research scientists and internationally renowned for his work on the heart of athletes and performance enhancement and has worked as consultant physiologist to a large number of Olympic and professional sports. Prior to his appointment at Liverpool John Moores University, Greg was the Director of Science and Research at the English Institute of Sport (EIS) from 2004-2006, and the Director of Research for the British Olympic Association based at the Olympic Medical Institute from 2001-2004. In addition to his academic background Greg has performed at the highest level in sport having been a member of the Great Britian Olympic team at the 1992 and 1996 Olympic Games and has won European bronze and World Championship silver medals.
Professor Whyte will be presenting three talks at the UWA School of Sport Science, Exercise and Health in the John Bloomfield Lecture Theatre.
Talk 1: Is Exercise Bad for the Heart? The Impact of Endurance Exercise on Cardiac Structure and Function - Tuesday 30 March at 1pm.
Talk 2: Anything is Possible: Exercise for Life - Tuesday 30 March at 6pm.
Talk 3: Pre-Participation Screening in Sport - Is It Worth It - Wednesday 31 March at 4pm.
