The aims of the two-day workshop are to:
* raise awareness of the contribution consumers and the community can make to research when involved as active partners
* identify and address barriers to consumer and community participation
* explore and develop ways to start involving consumers and the community as partners in their research work, and to develop good practice
* encourage and support researchers and students who have an interest in consumer and community involvement in research.
