Polar Science for Planet Earth : Discoveries of the recently completed International Polar Year -FREE EVENT Other events...
This informative and entertaining event will show how Earth's changing Poles affect weather, climate and the environment everywhere on our planet.

The presentation includes visualisations (generated by NASA's satellite views of Earth) of our shrinking Arctic sea ice, and high definition video clips capturing the remarkable wildlife inhibiting these Poles. Authentic polar artefacts, such as ancient ice cores, fossils and cold weather clothing will be on display. Attendees will be informed about cutting-edge polar research, discovery and exploration occurring across Earth’s nations by a team of working researchers from the fields of biology, geology, oceanography, climate studies and the indigenous peoples of the Arctic.

Supported by the U.S. National Science Foundation, The Australian Antartic Division, Polar Palooza, Scitech and the Faculty of Natural and Agricultural Sciences at UWA.
Speaker(s) Six scientists from America and Australia will host the event: Prof Malcolm McCulloch, Dr Martin Riddle, Rob King, Jackie Richter-Menge, Prof Mike Castellini and Richard Glenn.
