UWA French Club Play : L'Oeuf (The Egg) Other events...
Gripping, thought-provoking and subtitled, the UWA French Club invites you to attend L'Oeuf (The Egg). From the same team that staged last year's Rhinoceros, L'Oeuf is the story of a man who has never understood the world in which he lives. While outwardly possessing all the trappings of an ordinary citizen (a doting wife, a job as a public servant, and a penchant for cards), inwardly he is utterly perplexed by human society. To him, the world is like an egg: smooth, impenetrable and utterly incomprehensible. Desperately he tries to make sense of the world others take for granted and penetrate the egg that is invisible to all others, but is foiled at every turn. Eventually he realises there is only one way to enter an egg: break it.

The UWA French Club has been staging its annual French Play since 1935, making it one of the longest running theatrical traditions in Western Australia and a stalwart of the francophone (and francophile) community. Join us this year for our 75th anniversary.
