Classics and Ancient History at UWA is pleased to announce a public lecture by Dr Anton Powell (University of Swansea), under the title
*Sparta, the scandalous origins of her ideals*.
Dr Powell is a noted scholar and author of such tomes as *Athens and Sparta: Constructing Greek Social and Political History from 478BC* (2001) and *Euripides, Women and Sexuality* (1990). This promises to be a most entertaining and illuminating talk by one of the world's current authorities on Spartan history and culture.
This event is free, and all are welcome, indeed encouraged, to attend.
