Richard Gibbs is one of Australia’s leading global analysts and policy commentators. He is joined by distinguished UWA Business School academics in a panel discussion on the factors that contributed to the subprime problems, the subsequent credit crisis and global recession; the effectiveness of government responses; the lessons for corporate governance and regulation; and how the crisis will affect us all moving forward. The Panel will include Professor Raymond da Silva Rosa and Professor Phil
Hancock, both from UWA.
Richard Gibbs is responsible for the formulation and presentation of the Macquarie Group’s economic scenarios and forecasts for Australia, New Zealand, Asia and the major industrial economies. He is a Trustee of the Committee for the Economic Development of Australia and is a regular commentator on economic and business developments in Australasia and East Asia for CNN, CNBC Asia and BBC World. Professor Raymond da Silva Rosa is the Discipline Head of Accounting and Finance at the UWA Business School and the Director of the WA Centre for Capital Markets Research. Professor Phil Hancock is a Professor in Accounting and Finance at the UWA Business School and the Associate Dean (Teaching and Learning).
