Professor Armato's main research interests include the automated detection of lung nodules in computed tomography (CT) scans, enhanced visualization techniques for chest radiography, and imaging-based tumor response assessment for lung cancer and mesothelioma. Professor Armato is a Principal Investigator of the NCI-sponsored Lung Image Database Consortium
