WORKSHOP: Media Skills for Scientists

Media Skills for Scientists : Media Skills workshop with Geraldine Mellet and Nancy Longnecker Other events...
Topics covered include: what makes a media-friendly story, tailoring messages to increase impact and preparing for an interview.

Participants will be interviewed by an experienced journalist and receive feedback on their interviews.

WHEN: 9am to 5pm on Monday 29 June and Friday 3 July

WHO: Scientists who want to improve their effectiveness when interviewed by the media.

Past participants include staff and students from Western Power, the Future Farm Industry CRC, Scitech Discovery Centre, Department of Health, Decisions and Designs, Pty Ltd, UWA Mechanical Engineering, UWA Business School and Department of Fisheries.

HOW MUCH? $600, inclusive of tuition, workshop materials, lunches and morning and afternoon teas.

WHERE: UWA Crawley Campus; Centre for Learning Technology; ground floor of Physics building; entry via ramp between Geology and Physics
