The Western Australian Energy Research Alliance (a joint venture between the University of Western Australia, Curtin University and CSIRO) teams up with American Bureau of Shipping (ABS), a world leading classification society to showcase the latest developments in Floating LNG Technology. ABS has been actively involved in the design, construction and classification of offshore Floating LNG facilities. WAERA has several ongoing research projects in LNG. The seminars presented in this workshop discuss various topics relating to LNG liquefaction, LNG containment, offloading and transport, Novel FLNG hull design, Sloshing and environmental loads, Deployment, Reliability and Maintenance, LNG properties, Cryogenic Spills, Fire and Explosion Analysis, Emergency Systems and Survivability. With several companies eyeing FLNG as enabling technology for field development, this subject is very topical for the Perth industry.
