COURSE: ENERGY SYSTEMS AND SUSTAINABILITY
|
|
Most agree that we can no longer rely on oil for our future energy needs and the search for the next big energy sources is more urgent than ever. This talk will discuss the various forms of energy resources which are available: fossil fuels (coal, oil and gas), renewable energies (solar, bio, hydro, wind, wave, tidal and geothermal), and nuclear energy (fission and fusion). The pros and cons of each will be presented and briefly discussed.
