"Genome-wide Association Studies and Their Follow-Up" : Seminar by Professor Peter Donnelly Other events...
Professor Donnelly is a Professor of Statistical Science at the University of Oxford, Director of the Wellcome Trust Centre for Human Genetics, and a Fellow of both the Royal Society and Academy of Medical Sciences. He has been awarded the Mitchell Prize of the ASA and International Society for Bayesian Analysis and the Guy Medal in Silver of the Royal Statistical Society. His early work was in applied probability, particularly stochastic models in genetics, but, for some years, his research has focused on genetics. He played a major role in the HapMap project, an international collaboration that followed the Human Genome Project in studying genetic diversity in worldwide populations. He currently chairs the Wellcome Trust Case Control Consortium, a collaboration of over 200 UK scientists studying the genetics of 12 common human diseases.
