|
Following the 2009 Salek Minc Lecture is the launch of a catalogue published by the Lawrence Wilson Art Gallery which documents the exhibition—Imants Tillers:The long poem—currently at the Gallery.
This major catalogue includes reproductions of all of the featured works, photographs of the exhibition in situ and an essay by Gallery Director and exhibition Curator, John Barrett-Lennard.
This exhibition includes some of Tillers’ early works, such as Mount Analogue (from 1985) as well as four huge mural sized paintings from his Diaspora series and collaborative works with Aboriginal artist Michael Nelson Jagamara. This is the first time ever that Western Australian audiences have been able to see an exhibition by the artist and to appreciate the true scope and scale of Tillers’ work.
