EVENT: Science & Religion
|
|
The UWA Bahá'í Society warmly invites you to join us for an uplifting program of readings, music and visual presentations on the theme of harmony between science & religion.
The Bahá'í teachings place a great importance on the attainment of scientific knowledge as a necessary and praiseworthy field of human endeavour. So much so that in this dispensation, Bahá'u'lláh, the Founder of the Bahá'í Faith, has elevated the station of sciences to such a degree that:
“In accordance with the divine teachings the acquisition of sciences and the perfection of arts are considered acts of worship”
The Bahá'í Writings proclaim that:
“Scientific knowledge is the highest attainment upon the human plane, for science is the discoverer of realities. It is of two kinds: material and spiritual. Material science is the investigation of natural phenomena; divine science is the discovery and realization of spiritual verities. The world of humanity must acquire both. A bird has two wings; it cannot fly with one. Material and spiritual science are the two wings of human uplift and attainment. Both are necessary – one the natural, the other supernatural; one material, the other divine.”
