'The real world has been searched...nothing of interest was found..well except for the ob-vi-ous'.
Many of the works in the exhibition 'Con-figured' currently on display at the Lawrence Wilson Art Gallery, retain a strong reference to the 'real' world and particularly to the human figure. As co-director of Galerie Dusseldorf and a former lecturer at Curtin University's School of Art, Douglas Sheerer has worked with some of the artists in 'Con-figured' for many years. In this presentation he attempts to encapsulate and celebrate the rich diversity of ideas and artistic 'fo.ren.sics' flowing from this exhibition.
'Configured: Aspects of contemporary Western Australian figurative art' is on display at the Lawrence Wilson Art Gallery until 2 August.
Admission is free.
