Life and Death : The Baha'i Perspective on the Journey of the Soul |

As taught by all divinely inspired religions of the world, the true life of man extends beyond his physical existence and has its origins in the spiritual worlds of God. In the words of Baha'u'llah, the prophet founder of the Baha'i faith,
"...the soul is a sign of God, a heavenly gem whose reality the most learned of men hath failed to grasp, and whose mystery no mind, however acute, can ever hope to unravel."
Baha'u'llah teaches that the purpose of our lives is to recognise God and to acquire virtues which prepare our soul for its journey after separation from the body. In His own words:
"...if the soul of man hath walked in the ways of God, it will, assuredly, return and be gathered to the glory of the Beloved. By the righteousness of God! It shall attain a station such as no pen can depict, or tongue describe."
"Were man to appreciate the greatness of his station and the loftiness of his destiny he would manifest naught save goodly character, pure deeds, and a seemly and praiseworthy conduct."
The UWA Baha'i Society warmly invites you to join us, as we explore some of the Baha'i writings on this topic in a tranquil and uplifting devotional programme.
