Teaching and Learning : The Baha'i Perspective on Education |

The Baha'i writings greatly emphasise eduction as a powerful civilising force and as a unique means for the establishment of justice and the ultimate wellbeing of humankind. In the words of Baha'u'llah the prophet founder of the Baha'i Faith:
"Regard man as a mine rich in gems of inestimable value. Education can, alone, cause it to reveal its treasures, and enable mankind to benefit therefrom..."
In another place, describing the nature of education, Baha'u'llah says:
"Knowledge is as wings to man's life, and a ladder for his ascent. Its acquisition is incumbent upon everyone. The knowledge of such sciences, however, should be acquired as can profit the peoples of the earth, and not those which begin with words and end with words..."
The UWA Baha'i Society warmly invites you to join us as we explore some of the Baha'i writings on the topic of education in an uplifting devotional programme.
