The UWA Orchestra, directed by special guest Singaporean conductor TzeLaw Chan, will perform Mozart’s delightful ‘Haffner’ symphony in his anniversary year and Brahms’s monumental First Symphony.
This exciting program also features a world première by Perth composer, James Ledger, whose music has been performed by all the major orchestras in Australia and whose arrangement of Strauss's Four Last Songs was recently conducted by Bernard Haitink in London. Originally a horn player, James Ledger's Horn Concerto will be performed by Darryl Poulsen, for whom it was written.
