CLASSICAL VIENNA : A UWA Extension Short Course Other events...
The city of Vienna, with its strategic position in Europe, its strong intellectual movement and its seductive charm, epitomised the spirit of the Enlightenment in the late 18th and early 19th centuries. It was in this atmosphere of artistic patronage and elegant living that the Classical musical style flourished, with Mozart, Haydn, Beethoven and Schubert all living and working in Vienna. This course delves into the relationships which connected these musical giants and looks specifically at some of their compositions.
