Discover the amazing importance of the commercial routes across the Eurasian continent, the cultural interchange amongst people and civilizations through the centuries. Marco Polo's journey leads us into a fascinating world across more then twenty countries.
In the first lecture we will leave Venice to reach the Turkish Mediterranean coasts discovering, step-by-step, the remains of ancient civilizations and their history, the most significant monuments along the ancient caravaneer and the different people living nowadays in these regions. Then from Turkey and Syria, we will reach the Mesopotamian region.
In the second lecture we will travel across Persia and Afghanistan. Through the arduous paths, we will enter in the ancient Gandhara Kingdom (Pakistan-Western India) and the Mogul's Empire, discovering the cultural interchange among cultures as affected the people, their religious beliefs and their arts.
