EVENT: Official Launch of Laura Cole's Art Exhibition
|
|
Members and guests are invited to attend the official launch of Laura Cole’s art exhibition.
Laura Cole is a full-time professional artist who combines a love of travel with her passion for painting. Her usual 'modus operandi' is to visit a particular place for an intensive painting period, absorbing the ambience and character of the locale - the landscape, the food and wine, the people and customs. Laura has travelled extensively, both throughout her own country of Australia and overseas, including Europe, Africa, Asia, North America and parts of the Pacific. She has been white water rafting down the Zambesi, seen the 'midnight sun' in Iceland, cruised down the Nile, ridden her own motorbike through France and walked on the Great Wall of China.
A prolific painter with a bold and colourful style, Laura's former experience as an art teacher of more than 20 years has provided a familiarity with, and competence in, many styles, techniques and mediums; she chooses whichever best suits the work in hand. Laura’s exhibition features paintings of well-known West Australian scenery from Rottnest Island, Matilda Bay, South West and even The University of Western Australia.
Meet Laura Cole, peruse her art exhibition and then join us in the Club Café and Bar for a complimentary wine tasting from West Cape Howe Wines.
Please note: The University Club is a Members-only facility, although Members are welcome to attend all events with guests.
