Nobel Prize Winners Souvenir Stamps : Australia Post launches Sourvenir Stamps to commemorate Professors Warren and Marshall Other events...
Australia Post has recognised Nobel Prize recipients Emeritus Professor J. Robin Warren and Professor Barry J. Marshall with the release of a Souvenir Stamp Sheet in their honour.

The Nobel Prize was awarded to the men for their discovery of the bacterium Helicobacter pylori and its role in gastritis and peptic ulcer disease.

The Souvenir Stamp Sheet includes a portrait of the men and an image of them with their Nobel medals following the Nobel Prize Award Ceremony and ten 50-cent stamps with images of Dr Warren and Professor Marshall on the stamp tabs.

"Australia Post has a proud history of celebrating Australian milestones through stamps and is delighted to share in this significant achievement by Dr Warren and Professor Marshall", said Noel Leahy, Group Manager Philatelic, Australia Post.

Based in Perth, Dr Warren and Professor Marshall join an elite group of Australians who have received a Nobel Prize.

The limited edition Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine Souvenir Stamp Sheet retails for $15.95 and is available from participating Australia Post outlets and via mail order on 1800 331 794.

Overseas customers can purchase on-line at www.auspost.com.au/stamps.
