Russian-born Nicolai Demidenko has been hailed worldwide for his technical brilliance, his immensely powerful performance style and his superb musicianship.
A medallist in the 1976 Montreal and 1978 Tchaikovsky international competitions, Demidenko now performs regularly in the Great Performers series at the Barbican Concert Hall and the London International Piano series at the Royal Festival Hall. His frequent Wigmore Hall recitals have included his six-part series Piano Masterworks, which won a Royal Philharmonic Society Award. His award-winning recordings for Hyperion Records include the complete Prokofiev Piano Concertos with the London Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Alexander Lazarev.
“The house went wild when it was over, with Yevgeny Kissin, who was sitting in the audience, leading the applause.”
Tim Ashley, The Guardian (UK)
