Adeste Humaniores, the Community Relations Committee of the School of Humanities UWA, is staging an exciting event that will appeal to all those interested in the arts.
On Saturday 8 October from 10am to 4pm, we will be reading selected cantos from Dante's Divine Comedy - Inferno, Purgatorio and Paradiso.
This is a wonderful opportunity to hear a classic masterpiece of European literature and to discover Dante Alighieri, the great poet of Florence, while you enjoy a picnic in the magnificent grounds of UWA's Arts Faculty courtyard.
Internationally recognised Dante specialist, Professor John Scott, will introduce the readings from each canticle and complete the day's event by reading the last dramatic canto in the original Italian (translations will be provided).
Everyone is welcome, and the event is free - although, like all buskers, donations to the Committee's fundraising activities for students in the Arts will be welcome.
Parking is available in the carpark adjacent to the Reid Library.
