The young British pianist Paul Lewis is already one of the most sought-after artists of his generation, renowned for his insightful and deeply-considered performances. His Schubert Piano Sonata Series, performed at venues throughout the UK, was hailed by the public and critics alike, and won him both the 2003 South Bank Show Classical Music award, and the 2003 Royal Philharmonic Society’s Instrumentalist of the Year award. Following the success of this series, Paul Lewis will perform a complete cycle of the Beethoven Piano Sonatas at venues across Europe and the US during 2005-2006 and 2006-2007 seasons.
“The last time I cried listening to the radio was 10 days ago, when Paul Lewis played Schubert piano sonatas from the Wigmore Hall.”
Paul Donovan, The Sunday Times “Radio Waves” (UK)
