The emerging field of Biological Art (also known as Bioart) is gaining increasing attention and recognition. Many international exhibitions are being organised to showcase the work in this field. SymbioticA is considered one of the major international centres of Art and science collaborations in general and Bioart in particular through the various activities it organises including workshops in biotech, residencies, exhibitions, conferences and university courses and units. This talk will survey some of the leading works and artists working in this area and will present SymbioticA’s undertaking to promote and question Bioart.
