PUBLIC LECTURE: The second public forum in the "Our Drying Climate" series
|
|
Michael Mobbs, designer of the Sustainable House in Paddington, Sydney and Sustainability Coach
Will pose two questions:
Why do we live as if the environment will negotiate, when it cannot?
Can we live sustainably in cities?
In this presentation, Michael Mobbs will seek to describe some things that do sustain themselves on the planet, describe how money and profits drive the design and living within our cities, and look at some sustainable projects which indicate how we might live sustainably in cities.
At best this question must remain unanswered for some time but there are enough projects around to feed our curiosity about what is a fairly basic question posed by humanity.
The session will be facilitated by Geraldine Mellett. She will be joined by two local speakers who will respond to Michael Mobbs’ ideas as well as offer a local West Australian perspective.
