EVENT: Festival of Ridvan

|
Bahá’u’lláh (Glory of God in Arabic) the prophet founder of the Bahá’í faith, declared His Universal Mission in April 1863 in the Garden of Ridván, ushering the dawn of a New Age. Bahá’í communities throughout the world celebrate this occasion as the “King of Festivals”. The son of a Persian nobleman, Bahá’u’lláh declined a ministerial position in the court of the King and was later banished and imprisoned for His teachings. In His own words:
“We desire but the good of the world and happiness of the nations; yet they deem us a stirrer up of strife and sedition worthy of bondage and banishment... That all nations should become one in faith and all men as brothers; that the bonds of affection and unity between the sons of men should be strengthened; that diversity of religion should cease, and differences of race be annulled - what harm is there in this? ... Yet so it shall be; these fruitless strifes, these ruinous wars shall pass away, and the `Most Great Peace' shall come”.
Join us for a special programme of uplifting music, story telling and visual presentations on the life Bahá’u’lláh, and in celebration of the Festival of Ridván.
