PUBLIC LECTURE: Globalisation � Ethical Challenges

Professor Coleman graduated with BA magna cum laude and MA (Philosophy) from St Louis University, Missouri. He obtained a PhD (Sociology) from the University of California, Berkeley. Professor Coleman inaugurated the Chair for the Study of Religion and Values in American Society, University of Louvain, Leuven, Belgium. He was Alumnus of the Year, St Louis University in 1998. In 2000 Professor Coleman received the Award for Excellence in Applied Social Science Research, Georgetown University.
Professor Coleman is a prolific author, writer and commentator. He regularly teaches on social theory, theories of justice, civil society and citizenship, globalisation, history of social ethics, religion and ethics. Recent keynote speeches of his have been, “Religious Commitment, National Allegiance and a Global Citizenship” The Center for Global Mission, The Lutheran School of Theology, Chicago, Illinois and “Just War in a Time of Terrorism” at the Annual Convention of Religious Educators, Seattle.
Professor Coleman is the 2005 holder of the St Thomas More College Chair of Jesuit Studies - a joint initiative of the University of Western Australia, the University of Notre Dame Australia and St Thomas More College UWA.
