You are invited to a public lecture on
Wednesday, 6th October 2004, at 7.00pm by
DR. GAYE SCULTHORPE
Is a full time member of the National Native Title Tribunal and mediates Native Title claims in Queensland, New South Wales and Victoria. Prior to this, Dr. Sculthorpe worked for many years as Head of the Indigenous Cultures Department at Museum Victoria where she was centrally involved in developing Bunjilaka, the award-winning Aboriginal centre that opened in 2000. Dr. Sculthorpe is also a member of the Australian Heritage Council and a Council Member of La Trobe University.
Dr. Sculthorpe studied Anthropology and History at the Australian National University and has a PhD in Aboriginal Studies from La Trobe University. She has undertaken research in Tasmania, Victoria and Central Australia.
Dr. Sculthorpe is a descendant of the Pyemmairrener people of northest Tasmania.
