EVENT: BYZANTIUM: THE NEW ROME
The Roman Empire reinvented itself in the East and lived on for a thousand years. Learn about the fascinating Byzantine Empire - how it survived, flourished and then declined over the centuries. Meet emperors, empresses, generals, patriarchs, heretics, Huns, Arabs, Bulgars and Turks. See medieval, European and Christian histories from a new perspective.
Dr Andrew Hamilton was educated initially in Western Australia and graduated from UWA, with Honours and Master's degrees in History. He has since been awarded a PhD by the ANU. Andrew has taught history for university students and continuing education students at several universities and colleges. He has also worked, both in Australia and overseas, for the Commonwealth Government - especially for the Departments of Foreign Affairs and Defence.
