Biographical Note
Professor Mark Poster is a distinguished Humanities scholar of European Intellectual and Cultural History; Critical Theory; and Media Studies. Professor Poster works, teaches and researches in an interdisciplinary manner: He teaches in History, Media Studies, Critical Theory and is also associated with the Department of Information and Computers Science. His work is at the intersection between history, media, law and technology. He is particularly known for his critical work on CyberDemocracy, Technology and Culture and the Internet. His recent publications pertinent to the proposal include The second media Age (Blackwell, 1995), The Information Subject (G&B Arts International , 2001), What’s the matter with the Internet (University of Minnesota Press, 2001).
