A free illustrated talk for the general public: “Geological Journeys: from Artifacts to Zircon”
Find out about the real bushranger Captain Starlight and what he was doing in the WA Geological Survey; how fossil pollen grains help us in archaeology and forensics; the sources of Aboriginal artifacts on the Swan Coastal Plain; emeralds, from Ancient Egypt to Western Australia; lightning stones of Western Australia; and the world's oldest crystals (here in WA!).
NBThe book “Geological Journeys: from Artifacts to Zircon” by UWA scholar Dr John Glover will be available for purchase after the talk.
