Anne-Marie Fortier' s broad areas of interest include migrant identity formations (especially the articulation of sex/gender and ethnic/racial identities), diaspora, diversity, nationalisms and multiculturalisms, and addresses questions of home, belonging, community, and transnational connections. Within these areas, her work may be clustered around the following themes: Migrant Identities, Home and Belonging, including the impact of transnational forms of belonging on local communal identity formations, Queer migrations and queer diasporas, and Multiculturalisms and Nationalisms in a Globalising World.
This public lecture is part of the forthcoming symposium hosted by the Institute of Advanced Studies.
