Social Justice Week, organised by the UWA Student Guild's Public Affairs Council, will be held between August 2nd and 6th this year. The week aims to raise awareness of the world outside of UWA, promoting critical thought amongst the student body.
As part of the week, a Social Justice Handbook is produced, containing articles and opinion pieces on various social issues. This year, we would also like to provide information on organisations with a WA presence who seek to address issues raised in the articles.
We invite all staff and students to make a contribution. Previous work may be submitted. Contributions (max. 1500 words) should be emailed to Beth Shaw, Handbook Editor, at
[email protected] in the coming two weeks. Please contact Beth beforehand to discuss your piece, and for specific deadlines.
If you have ideas for the week itself, you can contact the 2004 Social Justice Week Directors, Giri Parameswaran and Tim Morris, at
