Term 4 of First Steps, UWA Junior Music School’s pre-instrumental music program, commences on Saturday 18 October. First Steps is a valuable introduction to music for children 3 to 9 years of age. Classes take place on Saturday mornings at The University of Western Australia and are taught by professional, enthusiastic teachers in a creative and fun environment.
Children learn essential musical skills and concepts such as rhythm, melody, harmony, expression and form through singing, dancing, movement, listening, games and activities. Parents are strongly encouraged to attend and participate in the class with their child. As children progress they may begin individual instrumental lessons with some of Perth’s most talented professionals.
There are currently vacancies for 3,4 and 6year olds. Call UWA Music on 9380 7835 to obtain an enrolment form and information brochure.
