Schubert's immortal song cycle charts a psychological journey through a desolate winter landscape, a journey into darkness and night. Steve Davislim, together with pianist Mark Coughlan, presents Schubert's masterpiece in Winter's Journey I.
Two nights later (Thursday 2 October), Davislim is joined by Roger Smalley and the WASO New Music Ensemble in Winter's Journey II for a fascinating and evocative reworking of this masterpiece by composer Hans Zender, adding a new dimension of colour and vibrancy.
