‘Bushwalking experience recommended. Tracks may be long, rough and very steep. Directional signage may be limited’. Australian walking track grading system.
Dr Peter Twigg argues Aboriginal tourism ventures and proposals should be understood as more than exciting new leisure, recreation or economic opportunities but rather should in addition be seen as offering the wider Australian community a welcome rest stop on the challenging path to reconciliation. This analysis is offered not to speak directly to Aboriginal tourism participants as such, but rather to argue the case for why such ventures and developments should be enthusiastically and seriously supported as part of a much larger and deeper community wide process.
