This study aims to fill this critical research gap in existing trasnlingual theories, urging a stronger need to acknowledge one of its most overlooked characteristics – ‘linguistic injustice’ experienced by translingual speakers. It examines how one’s basic human rights are violated; and how one is deprived of education, employment, health and social opportunities based on an individual’s use of language.
