UWA Albany Public Lecture : Tell Them We are Rising: The Story of Black Colleges and University Other events...
A haven for Black intellectuals, artists and revolutionaries – and path of promise toward the American dream – Black colleges and universities have educated the architects of freedom movements and cultivated leaders in every field. For the first time ever, their story is told. Assistant Professor Alrick Brown from New York University will discuss the film, directed by award-winning documentary filmmaker Stanley Nelson, “Tell them We Are Rising” examines the impact of HBCUs have had on American history, culture and national identify. The film will be screened on Friday, March 9 at 6pm at the Albany Town Hall.
