TALK: Tiwi Design - In the beginning
Using archival images, Madeleine Clear, co-founder of Tiwi Design, will reminisce about the early years of Tiwi Design, where she worked closely with artists in the late 1960s. From humble beginnings as a printmaking workshop, it went on to gain national and international recognition as one of the earliest and most successful Aboriginal art projects in Australia. The Tiwi Design art centre continues to produce unique and beautiful work specialising in printed fabrics.
This event runs as part of the current exhbition Being Tiwi, which is on tour from the Museum of Contemporary Art Australia.
