Social farming offers people with a range of social and health issues (including mental health, physical or intellectual disability, elder care) who experience social marginalisation, the opportunity to engage in the farming and related social activities of their communities. Deirdre O'Connor is a lecturer and in Resource Economics with the School of Agriculture and Food Science at the University College, Dublin.
