We invite UWA staff and interested visitors to engage in a thought provoking conversation about collaborative leadership and the potential contribution of contemplative practices in the development and evolution of a modern university.
The dialogue between Neil and Carolyn will catalyse and deepen our thinking, leading into some self-organised conversations around the question, ‘What does this mean to us and how do we do this in practice?’.
Cost $20 with all proceeds going to St. Vincent De Paul Society. Please book using the Trybooking link:

Event starts at 5.30pm. Arrive from 5pm for refreshments
Professor Carolyn Oldham holds a senior academic role in the UWA School of Civil, Environmental and Mining Engineering and has a long-standing interest in the development of collaborative dialogue across universities. Carolyn will provide some thoughts on how her contemplative practice as a Buddhist informs her understanding of collaborative leadership.
Dr Neil Preston provides specialised consulting services to both public and private sector organisations, exploring how people interact with each other in such a way that enables or disables peak performance. His areas of interest and practice include emergent design, complex systems and transpersonal psychology. Neil has been fascinated with the interface between psychology and spirituality. He embraces the contemplative and mystical traditions of the Christian faith and has been a Centering Prayer practitioner for over 13 years. Neil is the Coordinator of the Centering Prayer Network in Western Australia.
