Climate change is already challenging our capacity to meet the emerging global food demand. While much effort is expended in understanding the extent of this challenge much less attention has been given to the grand biological challenges that underpin our attempts to mitigate climate change.
The rising levels of the three major gases that drive global warming, carbon dioxide (CO2), methane (CH4) and nitrous oxide (N2O) all present significant biological challenges to researchers seeking to counter climate change.
In this talk, Professor Snow Barlow will discuss three grand agricultural challenges, giving emphasis to adaptation strategies and successful case studies.
