Dr Yuya Tanaka (Tokyo Institute of Technology) Organometallic Molecular Wires: Mixed Valency across Porphyrin linkers
Mixed-valence (MV) complexes serve as models of molecular wires due to their remarkable electron transfer processes between terminal metal ends. In particular, MV complexes with highly redox-active organometallic termini show long-range electronic interactions. In this presentation, our recent progress related to 1D and 2D organometallic molecular wires with Porphyrin linkers will be described.
Dr Horst Puschmann (Durham University)
Olex2 and You: Small-Molecule crystal structure The Easy Way.
Olex2 is a free and open-source program package designed to make working with crystal structures easy. From basic file-management to high-powered crystallographic tools, everything is accessible from a single user-friendly interface. In this talk, I will introduce the basic operation of the software and will then concentrate on one or two topics that are of particular relevance to the audience.
