Prose poetry is a powerful literary form in the 21st century. It is neither exactly like lyric poetry, nor is it quite like conventional prose fiction.
As Peter Johnson says, ‘the prose poem plants one foot in prose, the other in poetry, both heels resting precariously on banana peels’.
It will emphasise the importance of working imaginatively and figuratively with language, and of making prose poetic works that are open and suggestive rather than closed.
Refreshments will be provided. Presented by UWA Publishing.
